restore database backup creats new database sql server 2012

I am working on sql sever 2012. i create backup from sql 2008 R2. and restore it on sqlserver 2012 then it creats new database and backup on it. not on existing database. why? and give solution thanks?

U created 2008 r2 Database Server DB backup in 2012 right, U need to Restore in 2012 DB server with existing Database.
