txtbox validation & datatype nvarchar

Here is a textbox( dev express) which allow 60 characters not more than that, but while i enter total 60 characters.

datatype is nvarchar(60),

The inner exception is raised

String or binary data would be truncated.\r\nThe statement has been terminated

It is allowed to add 51 characters as i am digging here, as i enter 52nd character & click save it raise an exception

with the help of counting characters.
