Solution 1

Put a new column in your article-database, which contains the number of views for this article. Whenever somebody calls the articles details, increase this number by one.

Solution 2

If a particular image is associated with a particular product then you should be able to count the number of times that image is view from you web server logs. These things are never exact - but it is a start.
