how to compile a sourcecode from www.sourceforge.com

i download source code from the sourceforge it only have some .h,.cpp and makefile ,what could i do with them in windows ,can i compile them with vc6.0? thank you for your answer

Depends on the source and what it is intended for.
We can't give you a definitive answer, and SourceForge is not even platform specific: it could be code for Win8, win7, Win3.1, DOS, or a flavour of Linux for all we know.

The best thing you can do is look at where you got the source forge link from, and see if it tells you anything about the development environment there.
