About data base connection

I purchased a new server from us. I installed sqlserver 2005 in that server. my dotnet application is in my pc(which has internet) so when i am debugging my application the sqlserver which is present in the us server is not communicating with my application which is present in my pc. so how can i solve the problem .

Either provide more information, or contact the people in the US who manage the server.
