Hi
I'm trying to make a web site, in my site i'm trying to add an option 'Tell a friend'for increasing the publicity of the web site. This is for sending emails from registered user's friends to their friends. I have seen this option in many web sites, in which mails are sent from registered users emails without their passwords, irrespective of the service provider. I wonder how they are doing this.

If any one knows how to do this, please help me...

With regards

Rubbish. They just use the person's 'from' address, they do not send it through their server without a password.

Is this a big deal.

Just place the Display Name and ReplyTo of your MailMessage object with the registered user's email address and finally send from your own mail address.

If you set the Reply to address to your registered user, it will seem to others like he is sending the mail.

I hope you got my point.

You can refer to
How to Send Mails from your GMAIL Account through VB.NET or C#. Windows Programming, with a Bit of Customization[^]

Or any article that help you to send a mail programmatically.
Cheers
