Mouseover to get data from DB

I have a gridview which has some numeric data displayed, when i mouseover it i need to get the corresponding description for the numbers in the grid to be displayed similar to tooltip.

How big is your GridView. Posting to server for every mouseover isn't a good idea. Why don't you already get it as a tooltip?
