Hi Friends,

I am Tracy and I am a Computer Science graduate. I am in the process of learning C# using Visual Studio 2012 and I wanted to take up some development activity as a personal project. I want to develop a Web application about which I could talk during job interviews. I have searched for some ideas but I found were about creating websites which I felt was routine. So I would be really happy if anyone could share any new opinions and ideas.

Thank you very much,
Tracy

"new opinions and ideas", about what? A project for you? How would we know? Find something you are interested in doing, then do it.

I have to say if I had any ideas of that nature I would keep them to myself :-) However there are some websites out there looking for people to deliver stuff to genuine requirements - might be worth getting involved there. Or go for the "routine" stuff until you are proficient - it also has value for job interviews ... goes to "experience"

'Routine' .. whats wrong with routine ? routine is bread and butter - until you can demonstrate a grasp of the basics, why would a potential employer give you something more complex ? My generation get bitched about for being 'dinosaurs' - but we dont expect to jump into a company and start at an exec/advanced level, for one - we have this concept of 'learning the craft'

Wow, with an attitude like that you must be almost as old as me. ;)
