How do i Get motherboard or HDD Serial Number for Copy Protection ?

hi everybody :)
i want to protect my app (Writen by C#) from copying
i need a perfect way to get motherboard or HDD Serial Number ...
and i want to ask about other suggestions to best copy protection ways ??

Note : i've search but all the ways that i found didn't work with the .Net 4.0

Copy protection? There's no such thing. Seriously, companies have been throwing BILLIONS Of dollars at the problem and still haven't come up with a "perfect" way to protect their software.

IMHO, you're wasting your time.

But, there is no reliable way to get a serial number. There is nothing in any specification that says a serial number of any device must exist on the device at all, and no standard exists that exposes serial numbers in a consistent manner.

Your best option is WMI and home for the best, but you're going to be disappointed. Again, there is nothing that says a serial number must be exposed to WMI so on some machines, you'll get nothing. Google for "Win32_BIOS" and "Win32_SystemEnclosure" for a system serial number and for "Win32_DiskDrive" for drive serial numbers.
