How to increase the size of attachment in smtp in asp.net ?

How to increase the size of attachment file in smpt mail transfer in asp.net.i can send up to 3 or 4 mb file,but if the size is more than 6 or 7 mb it not send mail and it show error like
"Failure sending mail".so i need to increase the size of the file.

Do you have the access to the server settings? If not, you cannot change anything like that.

Thank for ur reply SA, i am using gmail smpt,so what the is the size of attachment in gamil in ordinary mail send and recive in gmail account,i think it will 20mb or 30 mb,so why i cant upload more than 3 mb in using smpt server settings ?

Solution 1

This is a hole in .Net Framework 4. You can apply a patch from the link:
https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/Downloads/DownloadDetails.aspx?DownloadID=30226

and your problem might get solved. Mark it as answer if your problem is solved by this.

form that link 3 files are not support to my system,my system is windows 7 64 bit SP1,and what purpose of that link ?
