i have no source code of the 3rd-party application.let me describe my problem in detail for you,for example there is a button on the 3rd-party application,it can implement a function with the button is pressed down.then i want to write a new application with a button too,i just press the button on the new application,and the 3rd-party application could implement the function. could you give me some tips and the system is linux?

How what, how to forget? :-)
Look, if you need to do who-knows-what with who-knows-what, you already loose. Do some legal business. For example, write normal application and don't use who-knows-what. It won't create any value.

"Your teacher" means nothing to me, sorry. If your teacher decides what to do, not you, than either ask him, or let him ask me about that, I'll talk to him. Why asking a question here? It does not look correct. I answered your question and gave you an advice.

And you should understand that applications are different processes. And different processes are well isolated in Linux. If the process is not designed to collaborate with other processes or the collaboration mechanism is not clearly documented, it's the best not to touch it. Normally, people use shared library, not external processes (unless this is something simple as piping of consecutive methods which is a very widespread in Linux). Everything should be developed in legitimate ways, not by breaking into undocumented processes without source code...

It's totally depends on that 3rd-party application. It's quite possible that this application does not respond to anything at all. Sorry, but that's all one can tell you about this problem, based on your information.
