Hi Friends,

I have sharepoint server installed and created one site for testing. On same server i installed visual studio 2012.

I am getting this error when i tried to deploy sharepoint solution.

"Error occurred in deployment step 'Recycle IIS Application Pool': A SharePoint server is not installed on this computer. A SharePoint server must be installed to work with SharePoint projects."

I tried with some of things as below :

1] Checked for unused servers in farms and checked administrative service on them. i removed unused servers.
2] Checked for WMI feature on server.
3] Checked for user writes in SQL server as dbcreator.
4] Checked for visual studio writes and user deployment writes.
5] Checked for Application pool status and writes for user.

But still issue persists, Hope you have any idea about it.

One more thing is I have only 5GB free space in drive, does it matters?
I am going increase it soon as well.

Friends,

A issue is resolved, ..... :)

Question : How did i do that?
Cause : I installed my visual studio 2012 on WFE and directly took solution to deploy on it, so it gave me error.
Resolution : Then i realized may be i missed some of the updates for visual studio related for SharePoint development.

I installed following updates :
1] sharepointclientcomponents_x86
2] officetools_bundle
3] WindowsIdentityFoundation-SDK-4.0 --Repaired
4] WorkflowClient_x64
5] WorkflowTools_x64

This worked for me, Hope for you same but before that check scenario i have mentioned in above question.
