access denied mysqladmin

I'm using putty to unblock my home ip. this is the website I'm taking help of http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/blocked-host.html

when i try to flush -host It give s me an error saying " refresh failed; error: 'Access denied; you need (at least one of) the RELOAD privilege(s) for this operation'"

ANy guess why and how to fix it.!!!
