Where is my data stored in joomla3 from profile.php file ?

Hi,
I have been working on a project with Joomla3, when I register on front-end of site all the form data goes to my users_table in Joomla backend.
However when I edit a profile on front-end it saves the data but I cannot seem to find where data is stored.
I assumed it would store this data in the user_profiles table in back-end but no data is going to that table.
I want to edit the table to add my own columns but if I dont know what table my data is going to then I don't know what table I need to edit, to suit my needs.
I have tried google but I only seem to find how to add a column to a table and not able to find where data is being stored.

Any help would be great thanks.
