hi two computers are located on a LAN. one of them is Windows (client) and one of them is Ubuntu 12.04 (server). what i want is to shape the traffic between these two while no other traffic from and to client get altered. for example i want to change rate of what i get or send to the server from the client to 20 KByte/s, simulating a far away server located somewhere in another location with a very poor internet connection. packets may be delayed to be received, some timeouts may appear (can enable or disable) and the bandwidth is limited.
is it possible? if yes, how?
thx

There are some tools which can simulate a low bandwidth, high latency, packet loss etc. Sorry, I do not remember the name...
