Socket to transfer data over internet c# win. form

I have tried to work with sockets which work over LAN but how to use them to transfer data over internet. cannot find a good example please help me?

just want to ask in the second link it passes a local ip not public ip.So, how to pass a public ip in it as it gives error on parsing public ip.
