Go back to Microsoft and report it there; it's their installer that has failed.

It seems to be a known issue with SQL Server 2008:
Installation Center must stay open throughout setup[^]

If you're unable to install your SQL Server Management Studio, you could try to install SQL Server 2008 R2 Management Studio Express instead:
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM - Management Studio Express[^]
