I cannot deploy a report nor the project because I keep getting the error

"The permissions granted to user 'KCDCSS-SQL\EContacts' are insufficient for performing this operation."

The Report Server is on the same server as SQL Server 2008r2
EContacts is a user on the server as an Administrator
EContacts is a user on the SQL Sever with SysAdmin rights and a user for the ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB tables with the recommended permissions.
EContacts is also set up in the Report Server Site Settings as a System Administrator
Even though I log in as Administrator I run IE and VS2008 as Administrator

Using Report Services on this server with this version of SQL Server is new. I do have SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services on another server that works with no problem. I have tried those settings on this 2008r2 server with no luck.

I have read lots of postings on various forums and tried everything I find with no luck.

I am stumped. Can anyone provide any advise which will be very much appreciated?

Make sure that the account has permission to publish reports. This link may help:

Thanx mgoad99 for the response. I checked and EContact has all the Roles assigned including Publisher. I read through the article you sent and I have tried all the suggestions but still get teh permissions error when trying to deploy a report or project.

I would like to help you more, but it is hard without seeing how you have things setup.

The thing i find suspicious is 'KCDCSS-SQL\EContacts'. That sounds like a local account on a server. is that the server where SQL and the reporting services instance are installed? Are you trying to deploy a report from visual studio? if so, you are running visual studio on the server?

SQL and Reporting Services are installed on the same server. I was trying to deploy from Visual Studio on my workstation. However, I think I solved the problem. I added EContacts to Folder Properties on the Report Server with the proper roles and it now works. I missed this one and rereading what you sent made me go back to revisit all my settings. I think what I will do now is back out some of the permissions and SQL Server security settings on EContacts so I understand this better.

Thanx you for your advise and followup. After reading all the stuff that can be Googled, sometimes it just takes someone to say try this to open the gate. I very much appreciate it.
