I want to develop for the iPhone, but need some advise on which software to use?

i am an experienced C# developer mainly using "Visual Studio" as my vehicle of choice for development of mainly Windows apps. i want to start developing some ideas for the iphone/ipad which i have.

what i want to know is there anything out there that can help me do this by using VS? i have a mac also, so would like to use that where possible, so second question is what are the software recommendations for use on a MAC.
