Hi!

I need to open a PDF file, in a new tab in IE. I know the place where it is, but I don't know the full name.

The name looks like this: 123456_filename.pdf

But I only know the 123456 part. How can I create the link, without knowing the full name. Or how can I open open it, without knowing the full filename.

Thank you for answers!

You can't. You need to use a directory search to find all files with 123456 in their name, and select from the returned list.

Well, i need to open the documents from a sharepoint library, and i know the path, but only the half of the file name. What do you suggest? Anyway, thx for the answer.

I suggest you do what I suggested. You cannot open a file without providing its full name.

Why? Sounds like a really bad idea. What if you have more then one file meeting these criteria?

Nope, these are codes, there can be only 1.
