Chile page Design is not viisible while using meta tag in master page..

I am using this for border coners and div shadow for internet explorer 8 but while adding this "<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=9" />" my child page does not get the css styles.

How can i resole this it is creating major issue while designing my css and pages
please help me.
