Hello,
Here's a step by step summary of how to do this:
Step 1. Get a domain name.
If you want a "real" domain, you'll have to purchase one from somewhere like
Go Daddy.
If you're not willing to buy a domain, move on to the next step.
Step 2. Find a hosting provider.
If you want something free but simple, I recommend
000webhost.com. They have reasonable storage space and bandwidth, but they don't support asp.net. I've used them for a few years with my website - they have excellent uptime. They can also host top-level domains.
If you didn't buy a domain, most free hosts will provide a free subdomain option.
Step 3. Set your domain's nameservers to that of your host's.
For example you'd login to GoDaddy and manage the options for your domain.
Step 4. Upload your website
Use some FTP software like
FileZilla to upload your website to your host.
These steps are approximate. Let me know if this helps :-)
