Stuck on Preparing paste information...

I have a Windows XP virtual machine running on my Windows 7 laptop. The VM has gone insane.... when I attempt to clone a directory - ctrl C / ctrl V - I get a "Preparing paste information..." popup. But it never copies anything.

Any spoilers? Google-fu is not helping this morning.

Finally found the answer - talk about incredibly annoying - apparently, if Internet Explorer is viewing a PDF file, this issue occurs. But get this, IE is running on my Windows 7 desktop, the Xp VM is misbehaving.... how weird is that?

doh! rebooting everything fixed it, but reboots are painful....

crap, it's doing it again... wtf?
