I am new to .net platform can anyone guide for creating sample custom control for menu creation by getting data from xml file, so that i will get an idea on it.

There is an article Using Multiple Sitemap Files with the jQuery Superfish Menu Plug-in[^] that uses XML for the sitemap

or the responses here [^] might be more useful.

To apply styles you'll probably want CSS - again, CodeProject has several examples if you try the search box in the top right corner
