Can someone support me with the logic needed heart rate reading in Android app?

Hi,

I am developing a heart rate app that takes the reading of the person's heart rate when the person places his finger on the camera lens and the flash lens of the android mobile application.

As i am a newbie in this field, can someone please help me by providing some logic that s being used in the heart rate detection apps using android operating system.
