How to create confirmation message box in server side?

I developed small data entry application in C#.net,In server side button click I wrote code as if particular entered data available in database obsolete the previous one and insert the new data into database else insert the data into database.so I wish to apply confirmation message for if the data already exists ask confirmation message (yes/no) user select confirmation message as yes then obsolete previous one and entered new data otherwise skip the process. Please provide sample code for above workflow

Solution 1

Creating a message box on the server side makes no sense.
If you want to alert users monitoring the server side, create logging and write messages into event logs or any other logger of your choice.
