Please, i am using vb and i want to know exactly how to get youtube download url.
All examples i have seen are no more working.
Please, i am desperate as it is part of the project i am working on.

Read the YouTube T&Cs:

5.1 A) You agree not to distribute any part of or parts of the Website or the Service, including but not limited to any Content, in any medium without YouTube's prior written authorisation, unless YouTube makes available the means for such distribution through functionality offered by the Service (such as the YouTube Player);

5.1 B) You agree not to alter or modify any part of the Website or any of the Service (including but not limited to the YouTube Player and its related technologies);

5.1 C) You agree not to access Content through any technology or means other than the video playback pages of the Website itself, the YouTube Player, or such other means as YouTube may explicitly designate for this purpose;

5.1 D) You agree not to (or attempt to) circumvent, disable or otherwise interfere with any security related features of the Service or features that (i) prevent or restrict use or copying of Content or (ii) enforce limitations on use of the Service or the content accessible via the Service;

This means that Youtube downloading is against the terms and conditions, and should be considered infringing copyright. And that's not something we approve of here.

Now this actually makes me wonder why CP accepts Tips that download YouTube videos, as there seem to be many around.

Searching "youtube downloader site:codeproject.com" on Google gives pretty many results.

Yeah, I did a "youtube" article search and got 29 pages. I've emailed him (rather than make it public on SugsNBugs)

I never knew its illegal. Ok, one another thing...
I want to create a multi downloader that downloads with specified number of threads that can pause and resume downloads.
Please, i just knw of webclient filedownload.

For people with limited network connections the Youtube Downloader is really a useful tool to grab the details on the video to their local machine. But I don't think it is illegal as said in the Youtube T&C. Youtube Video Downloading is not Hacking the video file and download it.

What part of "You agree not to access Content through any technology or means other than the video playback pages of the Website itself, the YouTube Player, or such other means as YouTube may explicitly designate for this purpose" do you think does not apply to you? Downloading the content means that you are intending to play it through a non-YouTube approved player - or there would be no point. Which make it in break of T&Cs.
It's also in breach of 5.1D in terms of circumventing security features - which are there to prevent you downloading it and playing it! Otherwise, you wouldn;t need a downloader, now would you? :laugh:
