How Can I Change Status Bar Level

I created one Business process flow in crm for Processbar/stage bar for application status..I create one option set field named as status..If i change the status value in option set then it should be change the process bar statge also..But the problem is the stage is changed in status bar but old stage also is in active mode until and unless i press the refresh button...i.e if i change the stage value then in stage bar both stages(previous stage and present stage) also highlited.After refreshing the page only its working fine..Can any one please suggest me with out refreshing the page how can i achieve it..?
