No, there is nothing wrong with the way it was, as that wouldnt have the variables value but the actual variable name

This is a bit old but still this is in no way "absurd" I want to have part of the function ultimately in a different file so i can add lines to the code with PHP. If I could split the code like this it would tremendously improve the possibility to do this. Would it help if I showed you the website and code in question?

The point is i would be able to add more code to a certain part of a function by editing a file with PHP

Sorry more of a typo i use dos a lot and get it confused with ms-dos. Nothing alike really. Ms-dos/batch has manny more commands. Another application or not it is still integrated into batch. I would think if this file is a zip file you could take, filezilla, for example and download/copy it from the web directory. It wouldnt be like using http to get to it but it would get the job done. -Jayden S

With the script i have it can never go above 2000 without hitting 2000 first. Good tip though.

Actually I should've clarified... The togo variable isn't meant for that its actually a counter. It works and all but I just set the miles to 2000 so I didn't have to increment it and make the code longer. In the original code all the variables are changing usually. Originally there are multiple if statements seeing if the mileage is like 40 and then alerting the user of said mileage. That and the other if statements are wrong in my code somehow

The goal is to alert the user when his mileage goes up to 2000. It checks the mileage every 5 seconds. I thought this is the proper way to layout if statements?

Oh if an http server with php is your means of a way of debugging thats already up, i tested it and it gave the message "Congratulations! Your file was accepted." But the file doesnt appear in my local web directory or its following subfolders. Dreamweaver reported no code errors.

For 1: Consider the fact the session usually ends when the user exits the site
For 2(and 3): Consider storing a date in a database or flat file system. Then say if its after --/--/-- than unlink(--)

What do you mean by validate? Do you mean make sure something was inputed or make sure what they put in was legal information. For it to be legal information it wouldnt really be possible. If you want to validate checking if it is like, a full name not a name like George G when it should be George Gionnochio. Than use a little php or javascript validation.

The code wasnt wrong. No errors and is what i expected. Therefore it is right. What IS wrong was that i couldnt find a way to add br tags but i now know to use the nl2br() function.

Im confused: I want through line by line. I think it makes sense and should work. $passwords is the string of the passwords file. $passwords_array makes an array from the string. next it checks if the username(The key, is better to say) is in $passwords_array. It also checks if the username key is equal to the password value. But then it turns out false. Why is that? What am I explaining or getting wrong?

It doesn't HAVE to be <br> tags I just need it to read the text file that is getting its text from a text area to have line breaks were you hit enter. Your answer is unclear to me.
EDIT: I know <br> only works in html, but the text file is read by php and outputted as html

Many things have not been said, im no javascript wiz but some problems may be in the html also. A few questions: External script or internal. What is the id of the javascript area EX: <script id="ID">YOURSCRIPT</script> If the id is something other than id="" Than it wont work. if it is id="ID" than the above would have to be href="#ID".

I would think you could use javascript once the button is pressed and wait ___ seconds and after that stop the loading and say "Form could not be submitted"

Sure, Id be happy to. What this is, is a chatbot maker. They have to write a
.cbs file (Chat-Bot Script) Then open the program and type the command "W"
It changes the .cbs to .bat and runs it. The .cbs would most likely consist of something like this:

Theres a bug that you cant edit the bot when you compile so I figured id let the right a file. They cant see much but the commands echo certain things into a file like

Every person has to start somewhere I started with batch. I know more advanced things, but I wanted to go back and make a simple(Or not so simple)batch file. See my commant on the answer below and see if that clarifies

C# webserver probably wont be needed all you would need is javascript I would think. Something to grab the value of the checkbox and make it a variable. and an if statement would change the color.

The undefined variables are "$_POST['msg']" and "$_POST['uname'] I know there is a way no offense to your knowledge, because I found a tutorial that let me do this I believe you use javascript but I feel there is an easier way, but the chat box works it just displays the error message which is not very user friendly to my website. The action="?" uses the same page as the action. Can I hide the error message or fix it in any way? I don't want to have to make another page, as my hosting plan has limited space.

Not sure what line I will run the page again but the undefined variables? That's what I am asking how can I NOT use undefined variables there It may be a dumb question but I am new to php.
