In our forums, sometimes we are seeing these kind of threads mostly Spams(rarely incomplete questions), It will be better hide those kind of messages(Instead of showing) if there are no replies.

I'll add this to the TODO, but surprisingly this isn't straight forward.
To do this you need to know whether a message has children and that can be done in three ways: we calculate on the fly, or we join with a table that has the number of messages in each thread, or we store the number of children in the row for each message itself (a denormalised value). The first method is slowest, the last method the fastest, the middle method is the neatest (to me), but still too slow.
A further issue is that we'd probably need to add this new denormalised column to the main index, and would also need to update this denormalised column each time a message is added/deleted. This slows down message posting.
None of this is a huge issue, and the extra load is a small, most likely unnoticeable incremental slowdown, but with a system as finely tuned as the forums I'll need to set aside a good solid chunk of time to test and experiment.

do you actually need to store hte number of children? I'd htink you'd only need to do a children exist count when the message is deleted to see if it can be made to disappear completely. If so, could you instead just add a bool column to the message table that is true for messages that are deleted and which should be hidden, and then do the children exist check in the background when a message is deleted and update the column after the check.

You're right: we don't need to store the actual child count, and I'll admit I was thinking about a few other features I would like to add that do require the child count. However, a flag "IncludeInListings" vs a child count boils down to the same thing.
Regardless: I've added it to the TODO list.

Currently when a comment is added for example to a question, it's sended to the person who created the question. If somebody (including the author of the question) would want to send a comment to the editor of the question, there's no direct mechanism for that.
Would it make sense to add such capability?

I don't think so because most who edit a question are doing so to improve readability, not because they may be an expert in the field. Having notifications sent purely because you cleaned up someone's mess is a disincentive I would think.
[Edit: I was initially thinking about your request as a "every comment posted to a question gets sent to all editors" but I see you're thinking purely on a "how do I contact an editor directly" type thing. Still not sure it's worth it, but would like to hear your thoughts]
What scenario are you thinking about?

Thanks for the reply, yes you're right I'm thinking an optional mechanism where basically anyone could send a message to the editor.
One scenario is when a modification is rolled back. As you said, editing is normally done to enhance readability so if it's rolled back the author could add an explanation why.
Perhaps another usage could be when sequential edits are made. The latter editor could add a comment what else has been done for the post. If it's the first edit this info would be sent to the author.
I think the 'big' thing would be to learn how good edits are made and to the authors, what were the initial problems with the post. Also if the author just wants to comment something about the editing, that would be possible.
Now when I'm thinking this a bit more, it sounds more like an 'editor notes' system which would be a parallel chain of comments to the actual question and it's comments.
Makes any sense?
