I want to start on a project but I don't really know much about programming. I intend to start using VB, so can you please give me some suggestions on how to start developing this project?

Please be more specific. What project should you develop? What does it mean: "I don't know the codings"? (and: "I'm having VB software"?).

Start with learning basic VB.NET, and then move onto the basics of ASP.NET. You could probably do both in tandem. Once you reach a certain level of programming-knowledge, then start on your project.

well to start with Visual Basic, you can read or download a few books.
i like 2 books :

1.Mastering Microsoft Visual Basic 2008(or 2010 if you have VS2010) by Evangelos Petroutsos.
and
2.Pro VB 2008 and the .NET 3.5 by Andrew Troelsen.

you can also download the ebooks.

In addition to the link given by JFergulbops you can also go through this link :
http://www.java2s.com/Code/VB/CatalogVB.htm

then hook on to some good ASP.NET book and start programming!!
Good Luck!
