I googled a lot ..some says its DQL others say its DDL or some other 'DQL'......my question is how would you prove that ??

Please don't ask such a silly question that you may've got in interview panel.

SELECT is DML, It isn't need to be proved It's defined already.

If you want proof in mathamatical way anyway then just go on with this. :mad:

SELECT = It reads data from table
and
DML = Data Manipulation Language
So further you can say like
DML = Reading data is kind of manipulation in data.
So further go on last stage
DML = It reads data from table

Hence ( SELECT = DML ) Prooved.
