database to datagrid

Hi! I am new to VB6. Someone asked me to retrieve data from the database and output it to datagrid.
I need to type in the serial number, and output should be displayed in datagrid.

How can I do this? Please help me.

And an advice (as you are new to VB6): switch to any of the latest technologies, don't start with VB6 now.
