How to recogonise that data written in pdf or doc is english or not?

Hi ,
Can we recognize the Language based on the Text like we have in Google translate when we paste the Text in the Translator it will automatically choose the source language ?

Please help me.

find some of the words in your files, and look them up in a dictionary. If 95% of the words, you look up, is in the english dictionary, then it's english.
I realize that it's not the best way to do it, but it's simple and easy. However if it isn't satisfying try reading this paper
