I am using sql server.even after closing it,its not releasing memory.please help me out.

A lot of questions arise...
How do you discover the memory isn't released? I guess you're starting Task Manager and look for process sqlservr.exe - but it shouldn't be present anymore after you stopped the server. Then, you check the "Performance" tab, right?

What do you mean by "closing"? It's a service, after all - do you mean you stopped this service? If yes - check that corresponding process is not present in the list. If no - then what do you actually do (close connection in you program, close Management Studio...)?
