help me out in setting bit rate and baut rate for connecting my moblie via usb

i am trying to use sms handling in my project..
i looked two projects for that .to get the logic to implement them in my project.

when i run the sample of the application. both of these request me to test the bit rate and baut rate. but i am not able to set them. i connect my mobile to usb using data cable. i tried port number from 1 to 14.

how to check the port number of my usb to which i connect to the datacable..

but i don't know what is the port number and baut rate..

please help me out on this..

i am using windows 7 ultimate

1)Double click My Computer..

2) Click on Manage

3)Click On Device Manager..

you Will get Port Details On Right Side

1'st of all u need to instal the PC suite of ur mobile . then when u connect it go to computer management in that device manager in that go to ports there u will see COM1 and COM2 those r all default port , Now u connect U r mobile USB then the page refreshes no see the port now a new COM will appear it May be COM4 or COM8 it depends on USB port .

Or else u can see the modem on the same Device Manager.. open it u will see the mobile name just right click on that and see its properties then go to port tab
