How do I install windows

I used to have windows 10 in my asus laptop. I removed windows and installed fedora 30 in local disk c partition. I would like to get back to windows 10 and boot with usb. How can I do it?

What I have tried:

I tried creating a bootable usb and change the boot order. But didn't work.

Having a dual boot system is a fine idea, because some things are different on this OS.

Solution 1

This is not a "OS Support" site: as you know this is for software dev.
But I don't think you can install Win10 complete on a USB and boot to Win10 from it: if nothing else Microsoft wouldn't be happy as it wouldn't be licenced for "all machines".
You can set up a Win10 USB installer and either boot from that or set up Fedora to dual boot: Make a Bootable Windows 10 USB Installer from Fedora Linux | MangoLassi[^]

Microsoft used to let you do it for certain editions with Windows to Go[^]. But that's no longer being developed.
