Newbie question.

I know in windows application if the cursor is in a text box and you use a bar code scanner (assuming you have installed the barcode scanner software on the machine in question)the text from the scan will automatically appear in the text box. Is the same true for an ASP web page? I think it does, after all the barcode software would be dealing with this and it should be the same as typing in the values using the keyboard, but I need confirmation that I am correct. I have already found numerous articles detailing how to print barcodes from a web application, which is a relief.

Many thanks in advance for any and all responses.

From my experience with barcode scanners, they simulate a keyboard in this respect and output clear text.

I have used barcode scanners for both windows and web applications without any issues. It should work fine. You can always email the suppor of your barcode scanner manufacturer for confirmation.
