I have Ecommerce project, which my client wants to be made in CMS. I am .Net Developer, but client is wants solution like Magento, as he is a Magento developer.Client told me that Magento is very strong CMS.

As I am .Net developer, I want to know which CMS should i use. It should be as strong as Magento and free as well. And should be easy for Admin to use.

And Should it be close to Magento in terms of performance and features.

Depends on many factors... like Cost, Requirement and users as well

This will be my first project on CMS. I want a free CMS where i can put my name under credits for website. Requirements are of a E-commerce webshop which sells lots of products, and provide a configurator to make products according to needs or clients. Client wants a magento like CMS. Can you tell me which one should be easy and as good as Magento.

There is no way to tell you which one is best. When faced with this kind of question you need to assess what skills and knowledge do you already have. For example, since you are a .Net developer then perhaps you can write the whole app from scratch yourself. If not, you need to make a list of features you need to have, research which out of the box products come closest and which ones allow you to have source code so you can fill in the gaps.

Then, you make a decision and go forward with it and you'll likely wonder if you should have gone a different way since projects rarely go as simple as you would expect.
