How do I connect Biometric device and store finger prints in database

Hi, I am working on a project of online voting system. To varify the user i use their finger prints, for this purpose i use bio metric device i wanted to know how to connect the bio metric device with the database......which tools are used as some one tell me ActiveX ccontrol will be usefull.....

First of all choose the device you want to use. As per your words it will be an external device that will come with its own communication interface.
The producer, if you choose a quality device, will supply the related software to interface the application, and will tell you the format of data generated from the device (to define DB storage, tipically a blob).
