The original source code works for standalone Bugzilla. Adding Testopia will break the XML RPC Services and prevent the import process from working.
Adding the missing Bugzilla Web Service code back in will fix the issue. Some minor code changes to the XMLRPC and BugProxy classes are required to work with newer versions of Bugzilla.
Good Luck!
Review the following PM file:
x:\bugzilla install folder\BugZilla\WebService\Product.pm
Add the missing Bugzilla references to the following PM file:
x:\bugzilla install folder\Testopia\extensions\testopia\lib\Testopia\WebService\Product.pm
3 sections were added:

I am trying to get bugs out of bugzilla using the following code:
Dim bugs As Bug() = oServer.GetBugs(sport)<br />
For Each b As Bug In bugs<br />
Response.Write((((b.Id + vbTab + b.[Alias] & vbTab) + b.Summary & vbTab) + b.Created & vbTab) + b.Changed & "<br/>")<br />
Next
Here sport is an array of integers.
But I am getting the following error.
response contains struct value with missing non-optional member: alias [response : struct mapped to type GetBugsResult : member bugs mapped to type BugInfo[] : array mapped to type BugInfo[] : element 0 : struct mapped to type BugInfo]
Can any body help me in resolving the error.

Howdy
I've just installed BugZilla version 3.2.5.1-2 on a server, and have started looking for a way to start importing our existing bug lists - stored in Excel - into the new system. I ran across this application of yours, and at first look it appears to be a godsend. But before I start playing around with it, I wanted to ask: is it still relevant?
I ask because there may have been various changes to the BugZilla schema, etc., in the 2 years since you coded it.
Many thanks.

I think it should work as basic schema will be same though.
It will take just 10 mins to apply the tools, just give it a try.

Hi
I have VSTS 2010 with me. When I publish the code to make it a installable it runs fine. But while installing it on some other machine I am getting an error.
The error message reads as "The application requires assembly Extensibility Version 7.0.3300.0 be installed in Global Assembly Cache first".
Could you please tell me how do we resolve this issue?

Hi Amit,
I am receiving following error while running demo, I did check for user authentication of bugzilla. If you could please help me out I would really appreciate it.
See the end of this message for details on invoking

Hi Alok,
Looking at the error trace you pasted,i think you are not able to login with the credentials/servername you provided and hence you are getting this error.
If you can debug the code(if you aware of programming) just check where the object is not being initialized.
Also check the format of excel file you going to import,check the names of fields & name of the sheet holding the data for bugs to import(which should be '$bugs') as i mentioned in the article itself.
Let me know if any above works or not.
Good Luck
Amit.

Hi Stacey,
Its hard to locate an issue with information you provided.it seems you getting this error when you are attempting to login to the system.So re-check your bugzilla credentials and give it a try.
as can be see
Bugzproxy.Server.Login(String username, String password, Boolean remember)
is causing an error.
Regards,
Amit.

Sure this is a bugzproxy error, but maybe someone can help me. When trying to get a server connection to bugzilla i always getting the following error:
"Proxy Authentication Required ( The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy service is denied. )"
The following code snipped was used for testing with public bugzilla testserver (https://landfill.bugzilla.org/bugzilla-3.2-branch/[^]):
Server server = new Server("landfill.bugzilla.org", 8080, "/bugzilla-3.2-branch/", false, null);
server.Login("user", "password", false);
Console.WriteLine(server.GetVersion());
I don't think theres a problem with new bugzilla version 3.2 cause the other test installations cause the same errors (https://landfill.bugzilla.org/[^]).

Hi Amit,
First of all thanks for your awesome utility.....
I have a problem in setting the resolution of a bug it is giving me a error like this
"fault response contains string value where integer expected [fault response : struct mapped to type Fault : member faultCode mapped to type Int32]"
so could you please provide me sample code in C# to set the resolution a bug in bugzilla???
|
|
|
|
|
Hi Dinesh,
Are you trying to set Resolution while creating a bug? if so,i think you would'nt.because what the assembly provides params in oProduct.CreateBug() function doen's accepts any resolution and hence it sets as BLANK.
what you can do is something like below:
oBug = oProduct.CreateBug(your params);<br />
oBug.Resolution = "YourResolution";<br>
oBug.Update();
</br>
I am not sure it will work,but you can give it a try.
Regds,
Amit Champaneri

Hi Amit,
I am new to programming.
I have to import bugs from excel file into bugzilla.
Kindly help me by explaining each step required to use the utility given by you on code project.
thanks

|
|
Hi Nitesh,
you not supposed to do anything with coding,
Step 1 : Format your Excel with columns as mentioned below.and make sure your existing data matches with the column name.
- Priority (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5)
- Severity (cosmetic, critical, major, minor, normal)
- FixBy (version name of your BugZilla's product)
- Resolved By (any user name of BugZilla system)
- Comments (This is the field used for additional comment if any user has posted after the bug has been created (not in BugZilla but in any other system). You can keep it empty if not used.)
- ReproSteps (This field will map to the Description field of BugZilla's system.)
- Title (This field will map to the Summary field of BugZilla's system.)
Step 2 : just download the demo project,run the exe.
And fill all the details of your bugzilla applicaiton.
And finally when all sets,just run the application.Your work will be done.
Ask again if you get any difficulty.Enjoy.
Thanks
Amit.
