.cctor is the name of a class's static constructor. Are you building this project as managed code? If so ask in the managed C++ forum.

Thanx Micheal for the reply, and yes I think I'm using managed C++, so I'll check the forum out....

You can respond to the WM_SIZING message as with any window.
For the dialog resource, set Border property to Resizing.

You can use WM_SIZING message to add OnSizing event handler to your app.
As mark said set border prop to Resizing.
You can also use minimize and maximize box.

Hi
I done it as you told. But the dialogbox only getting resize. Resources inside dialogbox (buttons, edit boxes, etc., ) are not resizing.
I nedd to do that resizing resources inside dialogbox.
How can i do that ?
Kindly help me.
Thanks.

Dialog's don't automatically reposition their controls, you'll need to write (or reuse) code to do that. You don't say if you're using a class library, but WTL has CDialogResize and there are many MFC-based solutions here on CP.

Of course.
There are many samples of auto-resizing dialogs. Look for samples in this site and other sites.

You can use following WIN32 function to open file
HFILE OpenFile(
LPCSTR lpFileName,
LPOFSTRUCT lpReOpenBuff,
UINT uStyle
);
then again using following function you can read the file...
BOOL ReadFile(
HANDLE hFile,
LPVOID lpBuffer,
DWORD nNumberOfBytesToRead,
LPDWORD lpNumberOfBytesRead,
LPOVERLAPPED lpOverlapped
);
hFile
[in] A handle to the file to be read.
lpBuffer
[out] A pointer to the buffer that receives the data read from a file.
nNumberOfBytesToRead
[in] The maximum number of bytes to read.
lpNumberOfBytesRead
[out] A pointer to the variable that receives the number of bytes read.
If lpOverlapped is NULL, lpNumberOfBytesRead cannot be NULL.
If lpOverlapped is not NULL, lpNumberOfBytesRead can be NULL.
If this is an overlapped read operation, you can get the number of bytes read by calling "GetOverlappedResult".

Please post your reply to the person who asked the question. This will ensure that the person will get an email even if he fails to check CP. His question before his modification was something like if he could read text from a text file.
PS: You cannot get anything out of a DBX file the by way you've suggested.

how to read the deleted mail (.dbx file )from outlook express.

You cannot do it directly. The .DBX is a proprietary format and it's kinda undisclosed. You need to find out third party tools which can access .DBX files or you need to research and write your own solution.
Try using this[^] third party API (they are giving a trial version of it, which will expire by this December). Google and find out if there are similar tools/APIs. I don't know if there's a freebie available for this purpose.

abrakadbra wrote: strcpy(db_TQuote.m_MarketState,marketstate);
: error C2664: 'strcpy' : cannot convert parameter 1 from 'unsigned char' to 'char *'
That's because the first parameter being passed to strcpy is of type unsigned char . strcpy expects a signed char* as it's first parameter. You need to cast it to char* for before passing it to strcpy .
The parameter that you are passing is an unsigned char which is dangerous even if you cast it to char* since it's the target for strcpy where the copied string will be placed.

abrakadbra wrote: strcpy(db_TQuote.m_MarketState,marketstate);
Since db_TQuote.m_MarketState is only one character, and marketstate is likely an array of characters, strcpy() is not the right tool for the job.

I am trying to implement a Screen capture program similar to VNC. The issue is
when i use the BitBlt to capture the screen, the cpu goes up to nearly 100% when
the hardware acceleration is set to Full.
I tried this on Couple of machines, on a dell inspiron laptop 6000 it shows abt 60%
but when i run the same on my desktop which has intel chip set and intel video card
the cpu stays 100%. I tried BitBlt on the DC's optained from CreateDIBSection and CreateCompatibleBitmap but did not help.
The Same code Cpu utilisation drops down to 20% - 30% maximum, if the hardware accleration
is set to None
Can anyone please advise me how to minimise the cpu utilisation when hardware acceleration
is set to Full.
If i run the VNC on the same intel machine, it takes only 40% cpu max.

I'm not sure about what effect hardware acceleration is having on it, but all the CPU use numbers
sound high. Are you repeatedly capturing the screen in a loop? It seems to me a full screen
capture only when the screen changes would be more efficient.
|
|
|
|
|
I am capturing the screen data only, when there is a change. Even then i
amd getting a 100% cpu utilisation.
Only the task manager in minimised form is running(changing).
Thanks,
- Vissu
