You're talking about dark ages programming here. Surely google will help ?
In fact, it took me seconds to have a multitude of pages that answer the question. I suggest if you want to be a programmer that you learn to do a little research. Seriously.

Hi!
I'm trying to write a kind of performancedata-fetcher for windows and therefore i need the total received and sent amount of bytes for each network interface.
I searched the whole msdn and I just found how to get the current traffic per second (either through the registry or wmi), but nowhere how to get the full amount of bytes like it's displayed in the blinking computer-symbol in the systempanel.
thanks for your help!

Take a look at the fState member of MENUITEMINFO , in particular the MFS_DEFAULT flag.

Hi,
I am trying to create 2 QuickTime process to open 2 seperate video streaming files. Both video streams open and run fine. When I open the second process, I notice that TaskManager lists the second QuickTime process with a different PID for about 2 seconds, and then it disappears and only one QuickTime process is listed. The problem I am encountering is when I try to close a single QuickTime process. I use the TerminateProcess() function and when I try using the function on the second process, it does nothing. However if I run the TerminateProcess() on the first process, it closes both of the windows. I have checked to make sure the pi.hProcess is different. I looked through the MSDN site and tried to change flags around, but nothing worked. The code I use to create and close functions is listed below. Can anyone help??
if (evalKitDlg == camera1)
{
if( !CreateProcess( NULL,
TEXT("C://Program Files//QuickTime//QuickTimePlayer.exe camera1.sdp"),
NULL,
NULL,
FALSE,
DETACHED_PROCESS,
0,
NULL,
NULL,
&si,
&pi ));
}
TerminateProcess(evalKitDlg->pi.hProcess, (DWORD)-1);

My guess:
QuickTime probably doesn't allow multiple instances of itself to run.
When you attempt to start the 2nd process, it sense the first, and forwards your request to it.
Upon forwarding your request to the initial process, process #2 shuts down.

I've tried with the WM_COMMAND message and nothing, where are sent this messages when i set the static control owner(?) window????
Any answer will be welcome, thank you

only when the notify option is set the static control will be able to get the messages!!!!!
u can do this by right clicking on the static control =>take properties ,select the styles option.....then check the NOTIFY option!!!!!

Hi all-
I posted before about this but hopefully this is more clear. I'm getting an access violation deep within the wininet dll when InternetErrorDlg() is called to handle a 407 Proxy Authentication Required error.
The odd thing is that this only happens with an SSL connection.... non-SSL works perfectly.
Any ideas??????
My other post is here.
Thanks, Nicholas

ive been having trouble with pointers in this program. just been learning about them and putting it into practice. ive commented in the code below where im getting the error, im getting a syntax error for where i thought i could use the pointer as i could if i were using what i am pointing to, strange im getting that error . the program is supposed to read the coeffients and signs of three variables to solve a quatratic equation. im trying to read the variables onto a stack then have the results output, by using recurssion twice. would really appreciate your help

cin >> *co;
This will not work as co has not been allocated any memory. You either need to not use a pointer or you will need to allocate a block of memory using the new operator. The former is preferable.

Where's the condition?
gyrvwrzp wrote:
*co == false; // if input is not a valid floating point number
The co variable is a float pointer. This statement does not do anything useful. It is comparing the contents of co to a bool value. What exactly is the purpose of the co variable?

It seems to be referenced in this Wrox book "Visual C++ 4 Master Class" which I have at home. I'll take a look and will get back to you. There's also a reference to it in this[^] CP article, but you've probably already seen that.

Hi everyone,
I need the Sourcecode(best MFC) for an Audio Spectrum Analyzer. I found Audacity at Sourceforge but I don't get through the Code. It's a kind of difficult because they use some stuff wxWindows and so on. I really need some of SourceCode, which is understandable.
