U reallu understand me i didnt want any one to write my home work for me i just want help so i want to ask u something
i wanna write my code & can you see it for me i mean see if there is something wrong or something i forgot coz really this type of questions we didnt lear in our course in the collegue i mean the dynamic allocation so can i or is it also wrong

Of course there is no problem of posting code here so we can advise you. This is the way it workks generally.

But the way you asked it was really like: "Ok, I have something to do but I don't want to do it myself. So here is what I need to do, so do it for me !".
And also insulting people is not generally a good solution neither Smile | :)

So, start doing your code, post it here (but only the part were you have problems and try to use the formatting otherwise it will be unreadable). Then ask some specific questions and then we should normally be able to help you.

ok thanks i really didnt mean to insult any one but i dont any one to insult me so when i read the black man i thought he was laughint at me so i insult him as he insulted me as i thought but really i applogize for him and i send him a message to apllogize for him & i really need him to forgive me

If I would be selfish, than I wouldn't try my best to answer a lot of questions here on CP would I?

Maybe you want to take my last kind words for you as an advice: start attending to classes, try and do your homework on your own first, be nice to people, don't be such a jerk and start using your own brain, since right now, you are the last programmer the world needs..

Hi,
I am using an owner drawn button on the same window as an edit box. I set the size and position of the button in the WM_INITDIALOG code using...

SetWindowPos(GetDlgItem(hwndow, Button), NULL, ButtonList[3], ButtonList[4], ButtonList[1], ButtonList[2], SWP_NOACTIVATE);

ButtonList being an array containing size and position of the button. I then set the focus to the edit box using...

SetFocus(GetDlgItem(hwndow, IDC_TEXT));

However, the focus is never set to the edit box. Remove the SetWindowPos line and it works perfectly. Put it back and no focus. If the user presses the enter key the code for that also sets the focus to the edit box and that works correctly whether the SetWindowPos is there or not.

I can find no reference to SetWindowPos causing a problem with the text focus so has anyone any idea what is wrong? I would hate to have to use a default button.

Did you try SWP_NOACTIVATE|SWP_NOZORDER as the last param for setwindowpos?

ALSO, I think there is a specific difference in return value from the WM_INITDIALOG required if you call SetFocus from within the WM_INITDIALOG handler. You might be setting it to a specific control, but return the wrong value, and Windows will set focus to a 'different' control in the dialog (the first one in the 'tab order' that can accept focus, I beleive).

Thanks for your answers guys,

Adding the SWP_NOZORDER flag solved the problem. You were right about Windows automatically setting the focus to the first window that can accept focus in the tab order so I removed the SetFocus line.

Your help was much appreciated!

Or you can click in the menu on Project->[name] Settings and you have there a combobox Configuration.
