NO iam not a BLACKMAN we really didnt take this in our course it needs a dynamic memory & we really didnt take any thing like thid before so it snot a proplem for someone to help me on writing it
computer languages cant be learnet onlt through reading it must be taught from ateacher and all of u know that u never learn any language urself or u can but u will take a long time to do this u for example to be a good one in writing any of these languages take along time to do it & with the help of others

Guy, if you want help from the people here, try:
1) to ask specific and clear questions
2) do not ask for people doing the job for you.
3) try first to do some code by yourself and then ask for some help
4) avoid using SMS language, people won't take the time to guess what you are trying to say
We are here to help but not to work for others...
And by the way the story about the black man has nothing to do with you. It was just the signature of his message (if you look at every message from Bob, you will see that this appear in every message).

U reallu understand me i didnt want any one to write my home work for me i just want help so i want to ask u something

Of course there is no problem of posting code here so we can advise you. This is the way it workks generally.
But the way you asked it was really like: "Ok, I have something to do but I don't want to do it myself. So here is what I need to do, so do it for me !".
And also insulting people is not generally a good solution neither  .
So, start doing your code, post it here (but only the part were you have problems and try to use the formatting otherwise it will be unreadable). Then ask some specific questions and then we should normally be able to help you.

Hi,
I am using an owner drawn button on the same window as an edit box. I set the size and position of the button in the WM_INITDIALOG code using...
SetWindowPos(GetDlgItem(hwndow, Button), NULL, ButtonList[3], ButtonList[4], ButtonList[1], ButtonList[2], SWP_NOACTIVATE);
ButtonList being an array containing size and position of the button. I then set the focus to the edit box using...
SetFocus(GetDlgItem(hwndow, IDC_TEXT));
However, the focus is never set to the edit box. Remove the SetWindowPos line and it works perfectly. Put it back and no focus. If the user presses the enter key the code for that also sets the focus to the edit box and that works correctly whether the SetWindowPos is there or not.
I can find no reference to SetWindowPos causing a problem with the text focus so has anyone any idea what is wrong? I would hate to have to use a default button.

Did you try SWP_NOACTIVATE|SWP_NOZORDER as the last param for setwindowpos?

ALSO, I think there is a specific difference in return value from the WM_INITDIALOG required if you call SetFocus from within the WM_INITDIALOG handler. You might be setting it to a specific control, but return the wrong value, and Windows will set focus to a 'different' control in the dialog (the first one in the 'tab order' that can accept focus, I beleive).

Adding the SWP_NOZORDER flag solved the problem. You were right about Windows automatically setting the focus to the first window that can accept focus in the tab order so I removed the SetFocus line.
