This seems to solve it:
IEnumerable<Record> SortedRecords = SortRecords(UnsortedRecords);

List<Record> SortedRecordsList = new List<Record>();
IEnumerator<Record> Enumerator = SortedRecords.GetEnumerator();

while (Enumerator.MoveNext())
{
    SortedRecordsList.Add(Enumerator.Current);
}

A big thanks to Richard Deeming, I'm so happy the sorting is working now.
