Digital transformation is table stakes for being in business at all—but a new report from Microsoft illustrates how “tech intensity” takes things to another level. Code harder not faster?

The most impactful lesson I've learned in 2019 has to be this quote - "Software Is About Developing Knowledge More Than Writing Code" by Li Hongyi "Developing knowledge" still shouldn't lead to bugs however

Those who can, do. Those who can't write articles about how programming is everything but actually programming.

I didn't read the article so I can't tell about it.
But I do agree with the content of the subject of Kent's message. I have always said, the best thing I learned in college, has nothing to do with the knowledge acquired. I am happy / proud that I learned how to learn by myself.
So yes, developing knowledge is a big plus
But again... I didn't (and probably won't) read the article, so I blindly trust what you say about it

The Visual Studio Code development team placed a Santa hat on the settings gear icon in the IDE as has been done in the past for the holiday season, but this year someone objected. Happy holidays

Threat actors breaching company networks are deploying a cornucopia of malware over the remote desktop protocol (RDP), without leaving a trace on target hosts. They're still technically *someone's* remote desktops, right?

Flickr is still losing money and needs more people to sign up to its Pro tier to have a chance of survival. Because nothing says, "trust us with your photos forever" like, "we're almost out of business"
But seriously, they're not Yahoo anymore, so they deserve to live. Right?

Yet another company I though had already gone out of business. I may still have photos there.

This error, which engineers refer to as an anomaly with the Mission Elapsed Time, triggered the capsule to over-control its location and burn too much fuel."

It seems that despite Jobs selling the iPad as a lean-back device, he actually wanted something that could be used on the toilet. And this is why we have hand sanitizer fluid

Don't do JavaScript, but went through this out of curiosity. However, I'm deeply concerned about its validity due to a lack of response from Greenland.
