So that's what we have to blame for the atrocity known as the W10 GUI.
I can not understand why they don't get the point that if people want to use a tablet or phone that's what they will use and if they use a desktop or laptop PC it's because they DON'T want to use a laptop or phone. Those do not need to all look or be the same.

As a recent escapee from Vermont I am not surprised.
Another bill submitted recently would jail teens for a year for the crime of using a cell phone.

Now as developers look at the costs of implementation:
- Validation scripts on the (motor vehicle dept) web portals to make sure you entered in a valid license plate number will now have to RegEx this crap.
- Police departments that use Automated License Plate Readers will need to have the OCR programming updated.
- The databases used will no longer be able to use ASCII text
So how long will this take and how much will this cost? And what about the neighboring states who undoubtedly will need to be upgraded as well?
And to think that most states don't have the letters I, O, and Q in their character sets as they may cause confusion.

Officials from the Department of Justice will reportedly be meeting this week with representatives of a 50-state coalition of state attorneys general to discuss tag-teaming their efforts to determine if Google's parent company, Alphabet, is in violation of antitrust laws. I know it all sounds stupid, but they are running rampant over the law and the rights of individuals, and setting an all-time low for business ethics.
There will be miss-steps, there will blockages caused by be corruption, but, sooner or later, the law will catch up.
