Condolences, but despite your grief you could try FedEx.

Not sure I can cope with that again: it took three physical deliveries to get one that worked on arrival last time. Couriers don't like heavy stuff, and generally drop it, a lot.
UPS are the worst, in my experience - I've yet to have a single package delivered by them in a condition which didn't mean full photographic documentation while opening. It seems that you desperately need decoy outer packaging for them to use as a football / ladder / chair while the inner packaging remains relatively intact*. Festooning packages with "FRAGILE" tape is obviously just seen as a challenge ...
* It's the "crumple zone" technique for parcels.

If the kid's a little nerd: Don't do anything. Later on, when the bullies notice that he's smarter than them, you might need to teach him how to knock someone out of his shirt. That's all.

I guess this will require a lot of duct-tape.

In my observation, over the years school has been deliberately made more fun.
Don't worry too much about learning unpleasant things - and watch some movies - every week - and learn from them . . .
The kids are happy because, more and more it's becoming a hang-out with buddies and less and less a place where you need to be quite and learn things you will need some day even though it doesn't seem like it now and you really don't want to.
Don't worry - (ahem).

That's news to me--I keep reading that social media makes them more depressed than ever. That, and finding out that school (and current parenting methods) have not prepared them for the real world.
But, I neither hang out on social media, nor have kids, so who I am I judge (or comment).

Hi All,
When I worked in a small company the management knew what I was working on, so no problem, Bigger company sent an Email with details, Bigger company we start using the JD Edwards award winning software. I want to know if had any rivals for the awards, if they weren't as good... I know nothing about time sheet software but I could write a better interface, enter something wrong and bang (bounds checking? that would be a no!). The back end appears to written by someone who knows enough about Oracle to know if you port an SQL database to Oracle you don't have to Micro$oft...give me a break!

It's because companies above a certain size require software that (claims to be) extensible, flexible, and expandable, and which is supported by a company that has a huge reserves, so will not collapse and leave them in the lurch -- these days, any supplier company less than fifteen years old need not apply.
Unfortunately, that leaves only a few players, which have taken so much control of the demographic that they pay little heed to users' needs or complaints -- not to mention that their claims of extensibility, flexibility, and expandability are three parts fiction, and hideously expensive, as they mostly require "consultants" from the suppliers be embedded in the customers' companies for months at extremely high rates.
So we're stuck with arrogant, overly powerful suppliers, who make everything work to their advantage, not their customers'.
