It's part of the push by Microsoft to embed their digital assistant into the system. The MS DA uses Bing, which in turn uses Edge for the interface. And yes, go into Edge's settings and you can turn this crap off.

Thanks for that nifty factoid about Msft.

You can turn this off by going into Edge's settings and selecting the System and performance menu item. It's the very first toggle on this page.

At least, I don't think there was another valid word from my remaining letters.

I just spent of most of the day pulling my hair out wondering why my SPI data was bad coming from my MCU.
Screen wasn't displaying.
So I plug in my Saleae 8 pro (they are flawless right?) and get all kinds of craziness. It was SPI-ish the same way Kraft Singles are Cheese-ish - you knew what it was trying to be, but no. Just, no.
Turned my sample rate from 500MS/s to 100MS/s on my analyzer and presto - in comes the SPI stream, and I know the codes to write a bitmap to a region of the display by heart. Sure enough it was coming through.
The whole time things weren't working because I just needed to invert my reset and dc lines and pull them high. It's hard to figure out the orientation of the pins with respect to their function given zOS allows you to invert them so I wasn't sure.
But the SPI data coming in bad, that red herring took me for a day of time i'll never get back.
Support issue opened with Saleae now.

I haven't dealt with them lately but they are fantastic and very willing to help.
I bought one when they were pretty new and I've used it for many years, it's a life saver!

Their support is fantastic, and this is the first time I've had a problem with one that wasn't down to a skill issue (so far)
Although in my defense, who the hell would think you can't plug your analyzer into a USB3 hub?
You can't. It won't see it. It's a known issue. That was my skill issue though - not knowing. They were really nice about it of course, and you never have to wait to talk to someone.
Hell I was about to open a ticket, and a live person started chatting me up before i could finish.

I looked over my old emails and found that I bought the " Logic 8-channel USB Logic Analyzer" back in Jan. 2012.
I built a new computer earlier this year and it didn't recognize the device so I put in a ticket in Mar. of this year. A live person responded to the ticket and the problem was resolved in a short time.
Yeah like I told the Saleae person, "It's the most important tool I own".

I am confused about cause and effect.
1. invert reset and dc lines and pull them high
2. changed sample rate from 500MS/s to 100MS/s fixes problem
Saleae 8 Pro according to web searches is primo logic analyzer

Oh no, sorry. It was two separate issues I initially thought were related.
1. Fixed the display so that it worked
2. Fixed my logic analyzer so that it worked.
After doing both, it all worked.
And yeah, this analyzer is supposed to one of the best you can buy. That's why I was shocked at its behavior.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

I placed a single Amazon order with 4 different items. At check-out I checked the box indicating that they can delay an item if needed to reduce boxes / shipments. Nevertheless, they proceeded to create 4 different shipments - OK, probably coming from 4 different warehouses. Now I get to watch status updates as the Amazon and USPS wheels spin gears grind.
Shipment 1 - Started at a warehouse about 100 miles away. By Wednesday it arrived at a hub about 30 miles away with an estimated delivery of Thursday (a day early). Then I got a "Delayed in transit" status and no Thursday delivery. It's now at a hub 150 miles away with a "An address redirection agreement is in place between the customer and the carrier. Package will be forwarded to the requested address." status.
Shipment 2 - Started at a warehouse 1500 miles away and arrived at my local post office this morning where it met up with shipment #3 (see below).
Shipment 3 - Started at a warehouse about 30 miles away and arrived at my local post office this morning where it met up with shipment #2. Both items are now at a hub or post office (its unclear) about 90 miles away.
Shipment 4 - I just got notice of the label being printed. Bezos only knows where this one will travel.
I usually have pretty good luck with Amazon deliveries but this one has gone completely sideways. Its a good thing none of these deliveries are time sensitive.
